Xfinity is no longer enrolling new subscribers for Family Sense. The information below pertains to customers who are already enrolled.
To get started, you will need to sign up for the Family Sense product. No new username/password needed - your Comcast username and password will take you there!
Once you register, you'll be asked to create a profile for the child you wish to monitor. You can set up profiles for up to four children. As part of this setup, you will be prompted to connect your child's social networks to Family Sense, including your child's Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram accounts. To do so, you will need your child's social network username and password. This short article provides more details on this topic. If you don't have this information during initial setup, you can always skip this step and come back to it later.
During setup, you will also receive instructions on how to download the Family Sense mobile app for Android and iPhone. By installing this app on the smartphone that your child uses, you'll be able to review his or her mobile activities. You will also be able to track the location of the smartphone on a map and take advantage of our product's advanced location services. Once you have added the social networks and/or mobile phone that you want to monitor, you will gain access to your Family Sense online dashboard. Data will start to appear on the dashboard within a couple of hours of completing the child setup process. The more information and accounts that you provide to Family Sense, the better the product will be able to keep you informed. In turn, this will help you guide your children in today's digital world, keeping their safety, privacy and reputation better protected.
To this end, Family Sense will even identify potentially inappropriate or risky situations and people that your child encounters. It will then immediately notify you via email and/or online so that you can take proper action. Be sure to configure your notification preferences within your account's settings.
